Charlie Garland

Charlie has collaborated with RRI’s founder, Nadim Matta, since 2010. He is now president of The Innovation Outlet, a team of independent innovation and business strategy consultants. Charlie is also a Senior Fellow at HITLAB, an outgrowth of Columbia University, which develops products and programs to improve global health.  Here he’s helping replicate the HITLAB operations model globally, starting with the University of Ghana’s School of Public Health, with which HITLAB has already collaborated in monitoring the efficacy of maternal health solutions. He also leads the operations team that is developing a center-of-excellence to address the growing challenge of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.

Charlie earned his MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth; prior to that, he graduated with honors from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has since helped drive innovation across the business and healthcare landscapes, developing a portfolio of innovation tools, methods, and logical models (e.g. The Innovation Cube™, Cognitive Buoyancy™, and others). Earlier in his career, he worked at Procter & Gamble as a leader in their global Total Quality Management team.
