After starting his career with KPMG (New York), Michael spent the majority of his career as an insurance executive in a progression of management roles - Finance, Marketing, IT and Operations - before serving as President/CEO of Continental International and its successor, CNA International, which provided global insurance products to US multi-nationals and operating in major insurance markets throughout the world.
Michael spent thirteen years living and working in Zurich, Switzerland for Zurich Insurance Group where, working for the CEO and Board, he was responsible for creating a globally integrated audit function and establishing appropriate governance (board and management) within the Group’s myriad of subsidiaries and operating entities.
He holds an MBA from New York University, an undergraduate degree from Providence College and is a CPA.
He founded the Marchesani Benefit for Hesed House (a comprehensive homeless resource center supporting homeless men, women and children in Aurora, IL). He is also co-founder of the Marchesani Education Endowment, providing educational opportunities to young adults.
Michael has extensive experience in corporate and board governance. Previous board memberships include IIC (Chair), International Insurance Foundation, Zurich Foundation and Hesed House (PADS). In 2016, he was elected Chair of the Board of Directors for the Rapid Results Institute.
