Project Ministry of Regional Integration and International Cooperation in Zimbabwe (2010)
This project aimed to design a new type of capacity building project based on the idea that the most effective way to build capacity is to focus on clear performance targets.
The project design involved building the capacity of the new Ministry of Regional Integration and International Cooperation in Zimbabwe. As part of the project design, the Institute team helped the Ministry leaders clarify specific, long-term performance targets. We then helped them launch a few diagnostic Rapid Results Initiatives aimed at uncovering and validating capacity needs while achieving specific 100-day goals. We then helped the Ministry leadership team integrate the lessons from the 100-day projects into the project design. The project design was approved by the African Capacity Building Foundation Board, and it will go into implementation in 2013.
